We have it in black and white: PCM promotes diversity!

Our world as a whole is becoming more diverse: LGBTQI movements, the wide variety of lifestyles across different generations, multiculturalism, and so on are making the world colorful and diverse. Today, it is more important than ever to understand and accept different personalities. This is arguably one of the most important prerequisites for interacting positively with others.

Here, PCM offers wonderful opportunities to understand the differences among people in their approaches to life, their communication styles, and their conflict resolution behaviors, as well as easy-to-use tools for dealing with these differences.

This is also reflected in the results of the PCM effectiveness survey. After becoming familiar with PCM

  • 54% of respondents said they had changed their self-perception always or most of the time, and
  • 60% always or most of the time changed how others perceived them.

Understanding one's own communication behavior (including in conflict situations) also yields some interesting findings:

  • 71% of participants always or usually understand their own behavior better and
  • 72% always or usually understand other people's behavior better.

People often struggle with their own behavior and with accepting their own personalities. Even in this area, PCM helps people see themselves in a different light and appreciate themselves—even with their flaws:

  • 59% of respondents find it always or mostly easier to accept themselves as they are, while
  • 65% of respondents say they are always or usually better able to accept other people's differences.

We are very happy that, through our PCM seminars and PCM coaching sessions, we can support the respectful acceptance of diversity—both in ourselves and in others—in our society in a very practical way. Because we are certain of one thing: It benefits us as individuals and as a society as a whole when we embrace diversity rather than fighting it.
