Emotional Reactions in Conversations: The Influence of the PCM Personality Type and the Respective Communication Strategies According to PCM
The research paper by Sixtine Lefebvre and Virginie Beaucousin, published in April 2025, used skin conductance measurements and video analyses of conversations involving 90 participants to examine the relationship between personality structure and PCM channels during interviews. The study’s findings provide the first empirical evidence that emotional reactions in dialogue systematically depend on the communication process and the basic PCM type. They suggest that communication tailored to personality improves interaction and promotes tolerance and relational agility.
