How PCM Works

Communicate Effectively Every Day: PCM Makes It Possible.

  • As an individual, you'll improve the quality of your personal and professional life.
  • As a team, you make the most of your differences.
  • As trainers, you teach others the necessary skills.

While one person may be a better speaker, the other may be a better listener. And yet, it’s often difficult to truly connect with others. With the Process Communication Model®, you’ll learn skills to avoid misunderstandings and get the most out of every conversation. This will help you become more effective as a colleague, manager, trainer, or coach.

Communicate More Effectively in 4 Steps

PCM is more than just a personality test: it’s a unique communication model for understanding yourself and others. Learn to be full of energy every day and to know what others need. PCM identifies six personality types that we all possess to some degree. However, the degree and intensity of these traits vary from person to person.

1.

Mindfulness: Become Aware of Your Own Personality

Understanding Your Own Personality and Preferences: Finally learn how to recharge your batteries through self-management, and understand what bothers you and how to deal with it.

2.

Consciously recognizing what other people do, say, and demonstrate through their behavior

Your observations give you insight into other people's needs and show you the best way to connect with others.

3.

Understanding How to Adapt Your Communication Style

Through your observations, you’ll learn what you do best, what you say best, and how to present yourself best in order to establish a genuine connection with the person you’re talking to—one that works for both of you in the long run.

4.

Use PCM to build happy relationships

Tailor your behavior and words specifically to the person you're interacting with. The result is noticeably better interactions at work, in meetings, on video calls, during presentations, and in your personal life.

Recognize and Make the Most of Your Differences

The foundation of the Process Communication Model® is your personality architecture. It shows you the composition and percentage breakdown of the six personality types. The order and intensity of the levels differ for each person. So you are not simply “yellow” or “red,” but rather a unique combination of traits, needs, and blind spots. The better you recognize these in yourself and others, the greater the impact you can make.

Your questions,
our answers

DISC and Insights provide valuable insight into the fact that we are all different. PCM takes it a step further: With PCM, you focus on what we have in common. You learn to speak the other person’s language, to recognize and harness sources of motivation, and to channel stress-related behaviors into effective collaboration. It’s not just a snapshot—it’s skills you can put into practice the very next day.

How deeply you delve into the Process Communication Model® (PCM) depends on your goals. For everyday life, the PCM 1 – Fundamentals Seminar (3 to 4 days) lays the foundation, allowing you to decipher your personality architecture. The PCM 2 – Advanced Seminar (2 to 3 days) builds on this for advanced conflict management. If you’d like to apply PCM professionally, certification as a PCM Coach takes 3 months, while certification as a certified trainer takes 8 months. What makes PCM special, however, is that while the theory is concise, its true impact becomes evident from the very first day through daily application in the here and now.

PCM makes a clear distinction between productive stress and destructive distress. Your personal profile shows you exactly what your individual and predictable stress patterns are when under pressure.

With this toolkit, you’ll be able to recognize early warning signs right away, in the here and now. You’ll learn to positively meet your basic psychological needs in a timely manner, actively break destructive stress cycles, and remain composed and capable of taking action even in times of crisis.
