More Fun and Enjoyment in the Classroom

As a teacher, instructor, or principal, you know that without connection, there is no learning. But how do you truly connect with every child or team member? And how do you stay resilient in stressful situations? PCM gives you the language and tools to make a real difference—for your students and for yourself.

You’ve probably seen it before: a student who zones out. A student who acts out. Or a student you just can’t seem to reach, no matter how hard you try. And meanwhile, the class keeps going, the group is large, and the whole effort takes more energy than it should.

It’s not because you’re doing something wrong. It’s because we’re often unaware of how to reach that one student—what he or she needs to feel secure enough to learn.

PCM provides you with a language to do just that. No major interventions, just small, second-by-second decisions. How you say something, ask a question, or react makes the difference between resistance and learning. Every day.

More than just self-awareness. Can be applied in the classroom from day one.

Knowing that children are different is one thing. Actually knowing how to handle that in the moment—in the middle of class, with 28 students around you—is another.

PCM offers you a practical approach to the two most important things in education: establishing a connection and maintaining that connection when things don’t go according to plan.

You’ll learn to recognize what a student needs to feel secure enough to learn. You’ll identify typical behavior patterns early on and know how to intervene.

Small decisions. How you ask a question. How you respond. Whether you stand briefly next to someone instead of facing them. That’s what PCM is all about. And that’s exactly where you make a difference.

With PCM, you'll learn:

  • To tailor your communication to specific needs.
  • To motivate students in a sustainable and scientifically sound way.
  • To avoid stress and misunderstandings.

For everyone who wants to make a difference in education

  • For Teachers and Instructors
PCM is the perfect solution for you if you want to reach every child and every student—from the first day of school through graduate studies. This includes those whose behavior you don’t yet understand or with whom you simply can’t seem to connect. PCM helps create a calmer classroom and leaves you with more energy at the end of the day.
  • For School Principals:
PCM helps you identify what each team member needs. You’ll recognize underlying tensions earlier, handle difficult conversations more effectively, and lead in a way that suits each individual. The training courses count toward your mandatory professional development (up to 200 points in the Principals’ Registry).
  • For coaches and mentors of young people
PCM offers a special profile for young people ages 15 and up. Give the young people you work with the ability to gain self-awareness and the language to understand themselves and others.
  • For educational teams
PCM provides your team with a common language. It fosters not only greater mutual understanding, but also the practical application of these insights in your day-to-day interactions. The result is greater openness, fewer misunderstandings, and a stronger educational environment for everyone.

Teams in the education sector rarely hit a snag because of technical content. It’s usually due to communication issues, hidden patterns of failure, and people who don’t understand each other well. PCM gives your team a common language to:

  • To have common guidelines for behavior and communication.
  • Uncovering hidden patterns of failure.
  • To create a more supportive educational environment for students and teachers.

Every process begins with an initial consultation to determine what your team needs and wants to achieve. We’d be happy to tell you more about the options available for your school or team.

Your questions,
our answers

PCM teaches you to recognize what a student needs to feel secure enough to learn—not based on random assumptions, but through careful observation. Small decisions about how you ask a question, say something, or respond make the difference between a student who disengages and one who participates.

Right away. After the first PCM seminar, you’ll already be able to positively influence communication—in your next conversation, in your next class. And you’ll discover what you need to maintain your energy, so that your work energizes you instead of draining you.

The PCM 1 – Basic Seminar earns you 25 points toward your continuing education as a school principal, and the PCM 2 – Advanced Seminar earns you another 25 points. If you complete the PCM certification for coaches, you’ll earn an additional 50 points. The PCM certification for trainers earns you 100 points. In total, you can earn up to 200 points toward the School Principals Registry through PCM.

Yes. PCM not only gives you insight into your students, but also into yourself. You’ll learn to recognize signs of stress early on, both in yourself and in others. This way, you’ll know in time what you need to maintain your energy and can make conscious decisions before it starts to take a toll on yourself or your work.
