The parallels between aviation and medicine are obvious. Both are high-risk industries. While the aviation industry has long emphasized the essential skills required for safe performance, this understanding is still relatively new in medicine.

The World Endoscopy Organization’s Emerging Stars Leadership Program has recognized the value of Essential Skills, and Dr. Weinert Communications, through PCM, has been an integral part of the leadership training for aspiring medical professors since 2017. Many of the promising participants have since gone on to become exceptional medical leaders. Among them are the Dean of the University of Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Raja Affendi, and Dr. Alberto Murino, who was awarded the 5 Star Excellence Certificate UK. Both attribute part of their success to the application of PCM. Prof. Dr. Affendi even had other professors at the University of Malaysia trained by us in this method.

We are very pleased to be part of a new movement here that is gaining traction in the medical field under the banner of “New Work” and that, in the long term, will not only promote the well-being and safety of patients but also the resilience of the nurses, doctors, and educators working in the healthcare sector.
