2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files that your browser stores on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. They contain a unique string of characters that allows the browser to be uniquely identified when you visit the website again.
In particular, a distinction is made between:
- Session cookies, which are stored only for the duration of your visit and are automatically deleted when you close your browser, and
- Persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a predefined period of time even after the session ends.
In addition to cookies, we may use other similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage. This policy applies mutatis mutandis to such technologies as well.
3. Legal Basis
The use of cookies and similar technologies is governed by Section 25 of the TDDDG (Telecommunications, Digital Services, and Data Protection Act) in conjunction with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- We use cookies that are strictly necessary for technical reasons in accordance with Section 25(2)(2) of the TDDDG without your consent. The associated processing of personal data is based on Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR (performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures) and, additionally, on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (legitimate interest in ensuring a functional and reliable website).
- We will only use all other cookies and technologies after you have expressly consented to them in the cookie consent banner (Section 25(1) of the TDDDG in conjunction with Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). You may revoke your consent at any time with future effect.

These cookies are set by third-party providers whose content or features we incorporate into our website (currently: embedded YouTube videos). They are not loaded until you have actively consented in the cookie consent banner.
