Communication has always played a major role in my life. I’ve had the opportunity to gain experience in a wide variety of settings, and at times I’ve been quite successful. But it wasn’t until I came into contact with PCM that I was able to make sense of both my successes and my failures in communication.
Whether as a police officer, software developer, leader, or even as a father: I’ve always been confronted with a wide variety of communication situations. Sometimes the other person was in deep distress; other times, it was just a brief disagreement. I no longer remember exactly how I resolved those various situations. But one thing I can say with certainty: With the knowledge I have gained from PCM, I could certainly have defused some situations much more quickly or maintained effective communication much more easily.
